Celebrating Community Health at Wurli Day

Under bright, sunny skies, the Territory Pharmacy Katherine Terrace and the Pharmasave Katherine team proudly joined the local community to celebrate Wurli Day, an important regional event dedicated to health, culture, and connection.

Working alongside the Wurli Wurlinjang Aboriginal Health Service, the day provided a vital platform for our local pharmacy team to step outside the dispensary and engage directly with the people they serve. The event was marked by a strong sense of community spirit, with attendees coming together to focus on holistic health, preventative care, and wellbeing in the Katherine region.

Northpharm Chief Pharmacist Sze Lim emphasised the significance of participating in grassroots community initiatives and the value of on-the-ground engagement.

"Our presence at Wurli Day is about much more than just healthcare provision; it is about building trust and showing up for the community," Lim said.

"Working alongside the Wurli Wurlinjang Aboriginal Health Service allows us to support their incredible work and ensure that culturally safe, accessible health support remains at the forefront of what we do in the Northern Territory."

Throughout the festivities, the Katherine team spent the day connecting with locals, discussing regional health needs, sharing health resources and reinforcing Northpharm's commitment to supporting community wellbeing. Events like Wurli Day are crucial for breaking down barriers to healthcare access and fostering meaningful, long-term relationships between local healthcare providers and residents.

"We are incredibly proud of our Katherine team for their dedication to community engagement," Lim added. "Being on the ground, listening to locals, and celebrating is how we truly understand and meet the unique health needs of this region."

The successful event highlighted Northpharm’s ongoing mission to deliver compassionate, community-focused care across Northern Australia, proving once again that the best health outcomes are achieved when we work together.
