Northpharm and Yalari Announce Education Partnership
Northpharm, a leading provider of community pharmacy services across regional and remote Australia, has today announced a six-year sponsorship agreement with Yalari, a non-profit organisation providing secondary education scholarships for Indigenous children.
Under the partnership, Northpharm will invest in the six-year secondary education journey of an Indigenous student from a regional or remote community to attend one of Australia’s leading boarding schools.
For Northpharm, a company deeply embedded in the health infrastructure across northern Australia, the partnership represents a natural extension of its mission to close the gap in regional services.
Northpharm CEO Pat Hodby expressed his pride in the new collaboration, noting that health and education are the twin pillars of thriving communities.
"At Northpharm, we believe that your postcode shouldn't determine your potential," he said.
"Our work takes us into the most remote corners of the country, where we see firsthand the incredible talent and leadership potential of young people. By partnering with Yalari, we are moving beyond health care to invest directly in the education and aspirations of the next generation."
Yalari, founded in 2005 by Waverley Stanley AM and Llew Mullins, supports over 260 students nationally.
Northpharm’s six-year commitment ensures that a student will not only receive tuition and boarding but will also benefit from Yalari’s extensive support network, including Student Support Officers and annual development camps.
“It’s the vision, thoughtfulness and support of Northpharm that will ensure our Indigenous students and young people have the chance for a quality education and therefore set up a future where choices are theirs to make with confidence,” said Llew Mullins, Co-founder and Managing Director.
" We look forward to walking alongside Yalari students as they grow, succeed, and continue their journey as the leaders and change-makers of tomorrow," Mr. Hodby added.
The agreement further solidifies Northpharm’s commitment as a socially responsible organisation.
With a growing footprint in towns across northern Australia, Northpharm continues to prioritise initiatives that foster cultural awareness and provide meaningful opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
