Connection to Community Artwork
Northpharm is proud to unveil a stunning new artwork, marking the beginning of a significant collaboration, which is now proudly displayed at Northpharm's corporate office in Adelaide.
The piece, titled ‘Connection to Community’, is the first of five artworks commissioned by the organisation to honour the regions and people they serve.
Created by Rochelle Minberrignully Fejo-Tasker, a Larrakia and Warramunga artist, the painting serves as a visual bridge between Northpharm’s operations and the traditional lands of the Garramilla (Darwin) region. The artwork is rich with symbolism, blending ancestral totems with the modern mission of community healthcare.
Connection to Community
This artwork, the first of five commissioned for Northpharm, is a tribute to the Garramilla (Darwin) region. It features the Dungalaba (Crocodile), a major totem of the local Larrakia people. The blue and green colours represent Darwin’s coastal environment, while scattered circles and ‘U’ shapes (people and children) symbolise the communities Northpharm serves. The large central circle signifies the Northpharm Darwin base. Handprints throughout the canvas symbolise the connection to the land and the act of healing
A Commitment to Healing
By placing this artwork at the heart of its corporate office, Northpharm aims to keep the spirit of the Northern Territory front and centre. The inclusion of the Dungalaba and the vibrant coastal palette ensures that the Larrakia culture remains a guiding presence in the company’s daily operations.
The "healing handprints" scattered across the canvas serve as a poignant reminder of the human element in pharmacy and healthcare—a personal touch that extends from the Darwin base to the wider community.
A New Chapter Begins
As the inaugural piece in a five-part series, this foundational artwork marks the very beginning of the visual story celebrating Northpharm’s deep connections across the Northern Territory.
